We are delighted to welcome Prof. Motoyuki Hattori from Fudan University, Shanghai!
Prof. Hattori’s research focuses on elucidating the three-dimensional structures of ion channels—key proteins that serve as vital drug targets—and in applying these structural insights to innovative drug discovery.
Having conducted research in both Japan and the U.S., and now leading his own laboratory in Shanghai since 2015, Prof. Hattori brings a uniquely cross-cultural view of scientific practice. In this talk, he will reflect on the research environments of Japan, the U.S., and China, and shed light on the forces behind China’s remarkable scientific growth over the past decade. He will also share practical and inspiring insights for PhD students and young researchers, drawing on examples from his own work.
